This image makes me wonder whether it was actually a vintage find. The clothing on the subjects doesn’t reveal much about the circumstances; neither does the environment. There’s tension in this image coming from the two subjects, which conflicts with what we would normally expect from portraits of children - it’s edgy. I love the composition, the treatment, the timing, and the unknown “narrative”.
